Back in our little bus, we drove a bit further inland to visit local primary school. There are two classes and two teachers. The children were shy, but seemed excited to have visitors. They were waiting out the front for us as we arrived.
The view from the playground looking back over the bay in the distance was stunning.
The children performed some songs for us…
… and then shyly showed us around the school grounds and through the classrooms
Most of us on the tour had bought donations for the school, mainly exercise books, pencils and chalk which had been requested. If I went again I’d take readers for the kids. This was the reading corner and the few books there were very, very, well read.
Then it was back outside for a drink and some fresh fruit with the kids, a game of footy for the boys. The was lots of curiosity about one ladies mobile phone when she shared a picture of a snake – the kids were fascinated with it!
The visit to the school was really fun and then it was time to go to our next stop – Shanniahs family village.
