After a long, disorganised morning yesterday we finally made it on board about 12.30pm. The ship is lovely. Although its small it does not feel crowded at all even though its almost fully booked. Mostly Americans, Canadians – lots of Australians, a few Germans and Japanese. We’ve discovered that Australians are very well thought of by Americans so meeting a lot of nice people on board who are up for a chat.
This is up on top of the ship in the pool area, all the pools are filled with hot water as well as having hot tubs.
This was the view of harbour at Vancouver last night.
Heres a our room, its compact be lots of storage and a three way bathroom.
Our ship didn’t leave port till well after midnight last night. We woke up this morning to the beautiful views – its really stunning here and the photos don’t do it justice. Quite cold up on deck.
The mountains are so many different shades of blue and in the distance you can see the snow on the mountain tops – (sorry but the videos aren’t working)
We saw four whales go past the ship, you could just see their fins each time they came up near the surface – just swimming along – amazing!
Our ship is now (11pm) out past Queen Charlotte Island, headed for Ketchikan early tomorrow morning where we are going bushwalking. We’ve had a very relaxing day lazing about – eating good food, went to a 70’s music show this evening which was really good and then another music show in the atrium. Looking forward to a good day out and about tomorrow.
(post me a comment and let me know if the videos are working – sometimes they are and sometimes not)
