We had a good trip down to Sydney in the train and then made our way to Circular Quay to board the Carnival Spirit. Its amazing to turn the corner and see that huge ship sitting there!
We stepped out of our taxi to see this – the ship is huge! |
Boarding was quick and easy – a real holiday atmosphere and staff all so helpful and friendly. We found out yesterday that we had a room upgrade and when we opened the door to our cabin we were greeted by a fantastic view out our window

Once we found our room and had some lunch we spent some time exploring the ship and enjoying the harbour. Some great places to just lie about in the sun and take in the views.
The atmosphere on board is like a big party, everyone excited to be on holidays and out on deck enjoying Sydney Harbour. We watched another cruise ship sail out and lots of people waving and cheering from the ferries.
Just before we sailed we had our safety drill and then made our way to back of ship for sailaway. All I can say it that sailing out of Sydney Harbour at night on a cruise ship is pretty amazing! Fantastic sights – great party atmosphere – the harbour all lit up and boats waving and sailing alongside – I could easily get used to this…
